Our Mission
Every good operation starts with a vision – an outlook for a long-term mission. In our case, the vision was to see our community transformed. Our mission is to create some sort of oasis for the community in which we live and to bring refreshment and peace into the community. What better way to do that than to serve refreshing products and provide a safe place to retreat? With a family filled with coffee lovers, a sweet tooth (Judy!), and people with a heart for the community, the Hekhuis’ vision of the Oasis Coffee Spot was born.
With the same vision in mind, we’ve learned even more about coffee and tried different brewing methods – French press, aero press, espresso shots and pour-over, just to name a few. In the process we’ve fallen even more in love with coffee! We’ve also learned a bit about coffee bean origin and roasting, which has a whole mission of its own.
The Hekhuis’ long-time friends, the VanEerden family, really resonated with the vision and moved from their hometown in Michigan to join in on developing and running the Oasis Coffee Spot. Together, we’ve tried to create a destination where people are refreshed by excellent products and service in an atmosphere that will nourish the body, soul, and mind. Here you will experience servant-hearted hospitality, beautiful colors, textures, aromas, and sounds as you enjoy the best coffee in the area over delicious and healthy food and desserts.
